FROM FIELD TO FORK
We love partnering with business who put a focus on sustainability, so we were thrilled to be approached by the Provenance team to design their latest store in Wimbledon Village. Everything we could use from the original Reiss store was retained and reused, such as the ceiling spots and parquet floor. A dark shopfront was chosen to contrast with the warm, light interior for maximum impact on the street. It’s also a practical choice that requires less repainting on a busy road. The clients were keen to explore a new arm to the business with take away rotisserie chicken so we took advantage of the footfall and placed the oven directly in the window to drive sales.
The meat is the hero so needed to take centre stage with a large, bespoke display case that is orientated for maximise customer flow at peak times. Butcher’s blocks are incorporated in to the design so customers can enjoy the expertise on show from the butchers.
Materials include an oxblood marble tile with white veins and countertops from Richlite - a recycled paper product that takes on a leathery appearance over time - all tying back to that glorious produce. Practical but characterful white tiles to walls are easy to wipe down at the end of the day and nod back to traditional butcher’s shops.
Feature lighting and bespoke signage complete the look. Whilst built in fridges and retail shelves provide a neat framework for more eclectic product groups.
