ALL ABOARD

Mathew & Tayler Carver love to do things differently and were undaunted at the prospect of being the first floating cheese restaurant to grace Paddington Basin. Working closely with Adam Richards Architects, who designed the custom built barge, our interiors finishes were selected to create a warm dining room with an emphasis on sustainability.

Reused Japanese bulkhead light fittings, Smile plastic table tops (recycled from old yoghurt pots), carbon neutral sheet flooring made from flax seed oil, wood flour and jute and wall claddings from recycled paper all contribute to the message. We even went so far as exposing the sheet thickness of the Smile sheets to avoid additional materials wastage with fiddly lipping details.

A custom built Cheese Fridge with double aspect glazing forms the ideal backdrop to the dining rooms and encourages customers to explore the wide variety of British Cheeses on offer.

Furniture was all handmade by the skilled Herb Palmer and the striking sign writing was provided by the excellent This is my Costume. The restaurant has received a great reception including a glowing review from Grace Dent and winning the Welcoming category of the New London Awards 2021.
